What this actually is
Master Lookup doesn't run its own separate infrastructure. It's a convenience wrapper that fires off the same checks as this site's individual DNS, WHOIS, CAA, and geolocation tools, against the same underlying third-party services, and brings the results together on one screen instead of several page visits.
When to reach for this instead of a single tool
It's most useful at the start of an investigation, when you don't yet know which record type actually matters: researching an unfamiliar domain, triaging a delivery or outage incident, or just getting oriented before digging in with a more targeted tool. Once you know exactly what you're chasing (say, just an SPF record), a single-purpose tool like the SPF / DMARC Checker gets you there with less on screen.
Common questions
Why does one section finish before the others, or fail while others succeed? Each section is an independent request to a different third-party provider, so they naturally finish at different speeds and are unaffected by each other. A slow or unreachable provider only holds up its own section.
Is this slower than checking each tool separately? The underlying requests take roughly the same amount of network time either way, since they run independently rather than one after another. This just saves you from visiting several pages to see them all.
